چکیده

Individuals diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (UC) often seek complementary lifestyle methods, such as diet and physical activity, to self-manage disease symptoms respond the psychosocial challenges of living chronic illness. The Energy Adjusted Dietary Inflammatory Index (E-DIITM) measures inflammatory potential one’s food intake has never been studied among UC population. This study aimed test associations between E-DII scores, related health outcomes. Data obtained from participants in IBD Partners e-cohort who self-reported (n=2,052) were analyzed using a cross-sectional, secondary data analysis. Patients had undergone UC-related surgery excluded. collected through National Cancer Institute frequency questionnaire converted into an score. Physical activity Godin-Shephard Leisure Time Activity Index. Outcome variables included Simple Clinical (SCCAI), Short Bowel Disease Questionnaire (SIBDQ), PROMIS domains anxiety, depression, fatigue, sleep disturbance, satisfaction social role. Multivariable regression models controlled for age, sex, BMI, race, education, diet, smoking status, medication class, duration. A higher score (indicating pro-inflammatory dietary potential) was significantly associated increased (β=0.166; p<0.001), reduced health-related quality life (β= -0.056; anxiety (β=0.342; p=0.006), depression (β=0.408; p=0.004), fatigue (β=0.386; p=0.005), disturbance (β=0.339; p=0.003), decreased role -0.370; p=0.004). inversely -0.108; -0.025; p=0.001), -0.058; -0.019; p=0.008), while positively IBD-related (β=0.005; p<0.001) (β=0.063; p<0.001). benefit outcomes, excluding greater strenuous exercise intensity than moderate or mild intensities. For all interaction effects not significant. These findings suggest that anti-inflammatory are each methods may contribute decreases well improvements life, sleep, Such modalities aid managing systemic localized inflammation reduce burden on daily living.

Early Sigmoidoscopy or Colonoscopy Is Associated With Improved Hospital Outcomes in Ulcerative Colitis-Related Hospitalization

OBJECTIVES Performing a sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy is recommended for assessment of disease activity, excluding infection, and guiding medical treatment during ulcerative colitis (UC)-related hospitalizations. However, it is unknown whether the timing of endoscopy impacts clinical outcomes. The objective of our study was to determine the impact of timing of endoscopy on hospital outcomes in p...

Pulmonary function in ulcerative colitis

Abstract Background: Pulmonary involvement in ulcerative colitis (UC) is thought to be rare. There is not a definite document about the question that "Is the lung a target organ in inflammatory bowel disease?" The aim of the present study is to compare lung function between cases with UC and healthy controls. This study will also be of interest about searching the outbreak of pulmonary functio...

Effects of coenzyme Q10 on health-related quality of life, clinical disease activity and blood pressure in patients with mild to moderate ulcerative colitis: a randomized clinical trial

Background: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is specified by a chronic mucosal inflammation that has a deleterious impact on the quality of life (QoL). Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) appears to influence disease activity by its obvious properties. Therefore, the current research intends to assess the impacts of CoQ10 on QoL, disease activity, and blood pressure in UC patients.    Methods: This clinical trial per...

Crohn’s disease is characterized by transmural inflammation of the gut wall and can affect any part of the tubular gastrointestinal tract. Although the underlying etiology and exact pathogenesis remain fully unclarifi...
